Adrian Wu Fall 2012
Never one to under-perform, last season’s rookie Adrian Wu opened the second day of World MasterCard Fashion Week with an odd, yet sophisticated collection. Donning Guy Fawkes masks, models strutted down a Tim Burton-esque runway in Wu’s signature poofs and layers. Most looks were based around the same tightly dotted print in various hues mimicking their earthy backdrop.
Each gown offered great visual interest and intricacy leaving the audience to wonder how each creation was made. And Wu made an extreme change with his footwear anchoring the femininity of the line; from last season’s platform geta-style shoes this season he opted for wedge work boots.
While the pieces were quite classic in structure and shape, Wu added in some interesting flavour, such as the cream reverse hi-lo dress that offered a scandalous view of the model’s behind.
