Ashtiani by Golnaz Ashtiani Fall 2012

Ashtiani by Golnaz Ashtiani Fall 2012

Innovative design and cutting edge silhouettes were central to the Fall 2012 collection of Ashtiani by Golnaz Ashtiani, as the fourth day of World MasterCard Fashion Week kicked off. Always maintaining a modern twist, the line kept visual interest in with colour-blocked collars, leading lines and asymmetry. The colour palate was soft and followed in line with one of the top trends we’ve been seeing all week: mixing textures. From wool to leather to patent, each piece seemed to incorporate different combinations of a variety of materials.

The shapes were classic, reminiscent of futuristic ’50s garb. A voluminous cream skirt suit, a glam and flowing Old Hollywood style gown and a sleeved shift dress were just a few of the nostalgic designs that incorporated strikingly unusual details. Rigid shoulders and cape layers added extra personality.

Taking more risks than her last collection, Ashtiani still managed to keep things demure and distinguished.
