Canada’s oldest department store announced a new name and logo change, the first major rebrand since 1965. Known as The Hudson’s Bay Company or The Bay, the company will now go simply by Hudson’s Bay, with a clean, new logo already at the head of their website, and coming soon to packaging and the like. “We’ve taken what is a very meaningful two-pronged approach to the redesign: maintaining our heritage while modernizing the new Hudson’s Bay Company,” Hudson’s Bay creative director Tony Smith said in a statement. “It’s a throwback to our remarkable history and an image for the direction we’re heading in.”

New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn has sounded off on the unexpectedly grunge Saint Laurent collection that Hedi Slimane sent down the runway this week.
