Our latest fragrance favourites
With the shift in seasons, we’ve been on the lookout for some new scents. Here are a few fragrances that caught our noses.
1. City inspired smells:
Guerlain’s latest addition, London ($220, 100ml, available exclusively at Guerlain boutiques), is a fruity green fragrance with grapefruit and bergamot, and joins Moscow, New York and Tokyo in its “A City, A Fragrance” collection. Le Labo’s City Exclusive Collection composed of seven scents are typically only available in the city of the scent, but until November 30th 6 by Gee Beauty will be exclusively carrying all of them. We like Paris-Vanille 44 and Chicago-Baie Rose 26 ($295, 50ml; $450, 100ml each).
2. Fruity florals:
Laced with rhubarb, blackcurrant, and peony, Kenzo FlowerTag (Eau de Toilette $79, 50ml; $99, 100ml, available exclusively at The Bay) the fragrance is as fun as the graffiti tagged bottle by young artist Julien Chalet. And Fan Di Fendi (Eau de Parfum, $88, 50ml; $105, 75ml, available exclusively at The Bay) has notes of rose, yellow jasmine, pear and a note of warm leather.
3. Haute Notes:
A first from the house of Bottega Veneta, the Italian clothing brand’s Eau de Parfum ($110/50 mL, available at The Bay and Holt Renfrew) is inspired by the Venetian countryside, with notes of Italian bergamot, pink peppercorns and patchouli. While the second incarnation of Balenciaga Paris, called L’Essence ($110/50 mL, The Bay, Holt Renfrew, Murale), calls upon violet leaves and vetiver to bring strength and youthful energy to its original eau.
4. Powder puff:
Chanel No 19 Poudré (Eau de Toilette $97, 50ml; $138, 100ml), is a softer rendition of the classic green fragrance, maintaining the key note of iris. Love, Chloé Eau Intense (Eau de Parfum $125, 75ml, available at Holt Renfrew, The Bay and Murale) is a powdery floral of iris, heliotropine and musks, conjuring the scent of classic talcs and face powders.
