GIRL GONE LUXE

Dealuxe.ca’s senior marketing manager Sari Little Friedman talks style, having her dream job and her favourite labels

When we questioned Dealuxe.ca’s senior marketing manager Sari Little Friedman, a communication arts grad who began her career working with Sweetspot.ca, where she saw herself in five years, she was very enthusiastic with her answer. “Right where I am!” Little Friedman wrote to FRM via email. “Continuing to build the Dealuxe brand—hopefully on an international level.”

Finding your dream job in the fashion industry can be difficult, but it was one that came as a pleasant surprise to this fashion conscious femme who is known for her love of jewelry (she’s a major Dannijo and Biko fan!) and her creative blog, Littlebitsandblogs.com. “Working in fashion kind of fell into my lap and I am completely grateful it. I’ve been very fortunate in my career thus far. I’ve always felt that things work out if your willing to put in the work.”

A lover of Zac Posen, Greta Constantine, Isabel Marant, Rag & Bone and 3.1 Phillip Lim, Little Friedman’s style has been described as laidback luxe. “I look for clothes that are comfortable with a good dose of edge,” she says. “And I shy away from anything too stuffy or trends that feel forced. At any given time, you’ll find me in lots of layers, a serious amount of jewelry and a chucky boot.”

Step into her well-worn boots and you’d be quite the busy bee. “My days consist of strategizing, creating and executing ad campaigns, managing our affiliate program and establishing new channels to build awareness, traffic and customer growth for the site,” she tells us of her gig at the mega Canadian shopping site.  “I also spend a lot of time connecting with our customers through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. I like to keep busy!”

On Little Friedman’s lust list for 2012? “I’d say a pair of Helmut Lang skinny leather pants and the Proenza Schouler PS1 bag in neon coral. Have you seen it? It’s like candy!”
