Montreal Fashion Week Round up

MFW wrapped up on Thursday night at Marché Bonsecours and from the ’70s-inspired Barilà collection (one of the few labels heavy on colour this season) to the casual elegance of the Black Swan-esque neutral-coloured separates from Mulcair—not to mention several designers, including Denis Gagnon and Melissa Nepton, demonstrating how layering different textures and fabrics can elevate basic black to anything but—Montreal designers showed that dressing for cold weather need not be about wearing the same boots and parkas as everyone else. Et ca se fait beau, n’est-ce pas?

For F/W 2011, we’ve got our hearts set on some chic chapeaux, ballet-inspired style, buttery-soft leather leggings and fur accessories (real or faux) on our heads, hands and even in our hair (as seen on the runway for the Telio Breakthrough Designer Competition), along with a universally flattering deep plum lipstick as seen at Barilà (get the look with Cover Girl Lip Perfection in Euphoria 360).
