ONE STEP BACK
Sid Neigum Spring 2014, the award-winning designer pares things down for the new season
Deciding to stay away from prints this season (which he only allowed into his collection for the first time for Fall 2013), Sid Neigum stuck with a palette of grey, purple, burnt burgundy, black and white for Spring 2014. The show started with obi-belted pieces, including a grey robe coat we were instantly coveting, as well as his well-finished leather trim, drapes and tucks. Layering made way for laser cut party frocks in burgundy, purple and white, inspired by architecture. And while the finishing was on par with Neigum’s previous work, this solid showing from the designer left us wanting more from his fabric choices and shoe selection.
