Ashtiani Spring 2013
Talk about a showstopper! With feminine detailing from head to toe, Ashtiani by Golnaz Ashtiani presented her Spring 2013 collection that perfectly blended the unique and ready-to-wear.
Bringing us to the South of France circa 1960, the palette was fresh and flirty, featuring an array of texture: pleats, silk organza (do we see a trend?), leather, PVC and textured cotton, to name a few. Colours ranged from muted pastels to deeper jewel tones and offered combinations of geometric shapes in varied chromatic arrangements.
Mixing “luxe sportswear and fresh cocktail frocks” as inspiration, Ashtiani wowed the audience with her modern take on the structured ’60s silhouette. While keeping in momentum with her past collections, the looks gave an edge to the girlie-girl with boxy, sharp cuts and visually-interesting lines.
The looks oozed sex appeal with mainly sheer fabrics, textured cotton acted as a cover, leaving little to the imagination, yet the looks were executed with such sophistication. With a piece for every woman, the collection was an instant hit and balances with the obvious retro trend that’s been popping up this week.
