Travis Taddeo Spring 2013
Bringing a grunge edge to World MasterCard Fashion Week, Travis Taddeo debuted his Spring 2013 collection that, though minimalist at heart, introduced unconventional fabric twisting in his signature jerseys and silks.
The women’s looks oozed sex appeal with alluring cutouts and movement, with the men’s looks were a little on the eccentric side (we thought the racerback tanks had a bit of a wrestler vibe going on), Taddeo maintained interesting detail, especially the T CUT tops that added a gothic touch with leather and hardware.
As we often see with Taddeo, the pieces transcend both time and style. While suited for a particular body type, the looks work in several contexts from edgy to athletic to feminine. The hair and makeup were classic and yet futuristic in a sense with deep eyes and high ponytails.
Said to be, “tinged with luxury and lust,” the collection maintained the simplistic nature of Taddeo’s designs with the intricacy of his deliberate twisting, folding and draping.
