Triarchy Spring 2013
It’s the unfortunate truth that (at times) denim doesn’t necessarily bring the hype that, say, a couture gown would. But, Triarchy’s Spring 2013 collection changed all the rules, kicking off the fourth day of WMCFW with a bang.
Bringing in the theatrics, the show opened with sounds of ocean waves crashing on the beach. A sweltering model wafting away the summer heat enters the runway in a full-length denim skirt, only to rip it off revealing a pair of super-sexy navy shorts.
The looks, inspired by those nights to remember and the mornings after – and, of course, everything in between – were perfectly styled with nautical rope used as accessories and clothing. A burnished bronze pant and shorts added a dimension to the collection that was highlighted by sleek cuts and slimming lines.
From tie dye to embellished to ombre, the looks represented a unique and energetic approach to your classic jeans. The lack of upper body clothing offered a creative avenue to envision the perfect ensemble to each pair. But our highlight was the gorgeous Ania Taubenfligel, one-third of the Triarchy design team, who walked the runway like a pro.
